As part of Culture Central’s West Midlands Weekender trio free artistic and cultural online festivals in September 2020, OPUS scoped, coordinated and delivered the second Weekender themed ‘Our Firsts’. Our Firsts showcased and platformed XX artists and creatives across the West Midlands who’s work tied in with the festival theme.

The festival preceded City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra’s (CBSO) 100th Birthday Celebration, which was the organisation's first ever internationally live-streamed online event. This event was also produced and event managed by OPUS.

Working with OPUS was a real joy. The team are very supportive and their events are always high quality. I was so grateful to work with them in the year of 2020 as it was a tough year for creatives and I'm appreciative that they are giving opportunities to local artists!

My experience of working with OPUS on Our Firsts as a contributor/contributing artist was Caroline and the team’s clarity of vision, ability to listen and professionalism with which the event was run. I was left with a positive residue.  I was impressed to learn about the producer development programme targeting women in the region.  Such strategic initiatives are necessary in order to see change. It's an asset to have such a force in the region.
